About Charles Feinstein
Charles Feinstein, M.D., is a Chicago-based physician and surgeon with a focus on urology and urogynecology. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Feinstein received a B.A. from New York University in 1973 and went on to pursue medical studies in Italy, at the University of Bologna. After earning his M.D. in 1979, Dr. Charles Feinstein returned to New York, where he completed a one-year internship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn and a two-year surgical residency at Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan. Dr. Feinstein then underwent a urological residency in Chicago, at Cook County Hospital and the University of Illinois Medical Center. A combined program with the West Side VA Medical Center, the residency lasted from 1982 to 1985, with Dr. Feinstein serving as Chief Resident of Cook County Hospital during the final year.
Since 1985, Dr. Charles Feinstein has seen patients in private practice in Chicago. His career has included medical staff positions at Thorek Memorial Hospital, Weiss Memorial Hospital, and Rogers Park Surgicenter. He currently operates Charles Feinstein M.D. and Associates, a private surgical facility focusing on urinary incontinence, primarily in women. Dr. Feinstein attends national and international professional meetings on developments in the field with the goal of providing world-class treatment.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Charles Feinstein is devoted to his family, which includes his wife, children, and sons and daughters-in-law. He loves to travel, particularly around Italy, where he revisits favorite places from his days as a medical student. He supports a number of charitable organizations and donates to scholarship funds for medical students at the University of Bologna, in order to provide others with the opportunities he himself has enjoyed.
